​Ruta's previous research on the language of visual advertisements for a BA English Linguistics study and research on text visualization tools for an MA English linguistics study, both from the University of Latvia, formed the basis of her interest in visual studies. In 2010, Ruta completed a Graphic Design program in Riga, laying the foundation for her creative career. Ten years later, she deepened her artistic vision by taking a photography course at Shaw Academy. In 2023, she took a major professional step forward by earning her master’s degree in photography at Falmouth University in the United Kingdom. She then continued her artistic development in the autumn of 2025 with a Visual Merchandising course at the University of the Arts London.
